I am reading and most highly recommend a fascinating 500-page book documenting in stark detail, with little or no gilding or moralizing (that's left up to the reader), much of it garnered firsthand through research and hundreds of interviews, Israel's (and I don't mean just the government's, but, dishearteningly, also a whole nation's, with the participation of an intense American cheering section) devastating and unrelenting, hypocritical and sleazy, for lack of a better word, human rights and war crimes of every manner imaginable (and a great many, frankly, unimaginable, including rapes, indignities, tortures, and uninvestigated murders galore) against the Palestinians, committed every instant, every single day over the last 70 years. The book is entitled Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel, and its author is -- set aside whatever prejudices right now -- Max Blumenthal, author and journalist and son of the notorious Sidney Blumenthal, who spent considerable time roughly around 2009 to 2011 in Gaza and the West Bank, gathering material semi-incognito. If you're like me, although you are familiar with the general outlines of the genocide and apartheid charges against Israel in this connection, you have had very limited access to details. If you have even a pulse, this book will not only take care of that, it will astonish you and make you seethe. Affordable used copies on Amazon. Get it. Read it.
